Articles of Faith
These are our non-negotiable 12 Articles of Faith. We do not state that they are all encompassing but we do declare they are sufficient for living the Christian life.
We believe that the bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of and preserved by the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17, 1st Peter 1:24-25
We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, redemption and restoration. John 14:25-26, Galatians 4:6, John 10:22-30
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in Holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of all people, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. Matthew 6:25-34
We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s eternal son, and has precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. We believe further that He is not only true God, but true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual Intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to Earth. John 1:1-5
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. We further believe He desires to fill our mortal bodies to empower us to be His witness. John 14:15-18
We believe God created man, male and female, in the image of God and free from sin. We believe however that man fell into sin and has therefore lost his eternal existence and relationship with God. Only through regeneration by the work of the Holy Spirit can man’s salvation and spiritual life be obtained. We further believe man is a sinner by his second nature and choice and is therefore spiritually dead and in need of restoration. We also believe that those who repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated and restored by the Holy Spirit. Genesis 2:4-24, 3:1-7
We believe in salvation and by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We further believe that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, and was purchased by Christ on the cross, delivered to man by Holy Spirit and is received by man through faith, apart from any human merit, works or ritual. We further believe salvation results in righteous living, good works, and proper social concern. We believe that every human being has direct relations with God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith. Also that Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others; that our conduct should be blameless before the world; that we should be faithful stewards of our possessions; and that we should emulate the nature and character of Jesus Christ working out our own salvation. Ephesians 2:1-10, John 3:16-21, Hebrews 11: 1-40, Romans 8:38-39
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all restored persons are members. That Christ is preparing the Church to be His bride and to presented to the Father and shall rule and reign with Him for all eternity. 1st Corinthians 12:12-28
We believe in the local church, consisting of: Jesus divinely established offices in the Church- Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers, each to do the work of the ministry and all these offices are alive and operating in the Church today restoring the move of the Holy Spirit and growing the Body of Christ into full maturity according to Ephesians 4:8-12. A company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship.
Furthermore that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. These beliefs are empowered are empowered by the Holy Spirit who gives to each person spiritual gifts to Minister to the needs of the believer for the purpose of building up Christ’s body, the Church according to 1st Corinthians 12. That the local church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority. Also that the Church can further promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with those of like faith. Cooperation in a conference , meeting or community service is voluntary and may be terminated at any time.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has commanded two ordinances of the Church: baptism and the Lord’s supper. We believe that immersion is the best expression of believer’s baptism because it symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death and resurrection of Christ. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death and should be observed “often”. We believe that these two ordinances should be practiced until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:18, 1st Corinthians 11:23-25
